How long after delivery did it take to get plates? I still have temp plates and mine expires 2/7/24!

@domonas, this is different for different states. In PA I got plates at my delivery. It may be helpful if you specifically ask for your state.

I guess I don't understand. In Arkansas the permanent plates are done through DMV. Is it done differently in some states?

Took delivery Dec 9th in Maryland. Still no plates

As others have noted, this likely differs by state.

For me in WA, most of my Teslas (including the X we bought two months ago) the plates have arrived the day before the temp tags expire. I know at least one (perhaps more) was early, and one was a few days late.

Colorado is notoriously S L O W for some reason.
Many owners (myself included) report having to purchase a second temporary tag. (60 day)
$7.00 if I remember correctly. Mildly annoying, but in the grand scheme of things . . . .

In my case, I paid cash for the vehicle, so I had the paperwork within a few days. If you finance, or even worse, lease the vehicle, it can take much longer, like months.
