Yeah, if I did that to mine the hood would hit the body panel in front of it and it would feel like you were going to break something before you even got that far.

That's odd - both VIN 55 and VIN 76 work just fine.

I assume that is because they both have the original carbon fiber frame underneath the bonnet, as does my #33. Later cars have a plastic frame, as shown in the pictures upthread.

Except that m0rph's car has a plastic frame and the hood prop works fine.

My hood prop on #425 does not work properly, I cannot position the sharp bend in the prop into the notch in the hood frame even when applying strong pressure on the hood (obviously don't want to force it). Hood frame is original to the car as far as I know. Here is a photo:

Mine works exactly the same as yours - that is as far as I can push it without trying to break the hood.

It doesn't seem to be a question of whether a car is an early one or a late one: some Roadster have this issue of the hood stay not fitting into the notch designed for it, and some don't have a problem. Weird.

Not working on #834. Can't tell if the rod is too long, or the hood just doesn't open far enough, though I'm guessing the later. Temptingly close, but I don't want to force it. Fortunately, it's not needed in the garage, unlike the other cars.

My hood prop does not fit in the notch either, but my hood does stay open by itself. About 6 inches before it falls closed. Do your hoods not stay up at all?

Without the stay wedged in place my hood will stay up, barely. It's unstable. I wedge the stay in so it won't fall down, but it bugs me a little that he stay won't fit into the notch that is obviously designed to take it. It's just odd.

Obviously assembly tolerances on the essentially hand-built Roadsters is highly variable.
