I had 2 of 3 strikes my my '17 MS with no interior camera. I planned on intentionally getting my 3rd strike today to prepare for an upcoming trip.

Three strikes gave me the message "you have 3 strikes, one more and you will be suspended ". OK, strange. -After stopping for a while I thought I'd look again. FSD is still available. Took a 4th strike - same identical message. Rebooted, no change. Took a 5th strike and it suspended.

So at this release the strikes for non-interior camera cars is now also 5 strikes but apparently not by design.

Glad to hear of the upcoming strike redemption feature.

Huh, I thought it had always been five strikes for all vehicles.

Back in the limited release beta days, for a time, you did get 3 strikes (take a look at some of Chuck Cook's early videos). But they changed that some time ago to 5 strikes.
