It seems to come in stock fairly quickly. I setup the notifications for it because my wife wanted one for her incoming model Y. Took about a week to get the in stock notification, and I bought it when I got the notification. Tesla shipped it out a couple days after I bought it, and I got it in hand a couple days after that. Much better than the "old school" tesla online shop experience, actually.

I'm running the new model S key on my 3 it works after the software update. Not sure if you can buy them at the SC but I hear they are cheaper for a pair.
