Lost ability to text

Today I can no longer text in my Model 3. I have restarted my iPhone 8, had the car forget the iPhone and then reconnected it, no joy. Attempting a text gets an error message, "Text meaning is supported on iOS 13/Android v9 (or above). Attempting to switch on messaging when connecting the iPhone gets error message about not being able to and tells me to turn on messaging in my iPhone's Bluetooth preference... already on, and so cycled it... no joy. Any ideas? Thanks!

I have similar issue. Found that changing my phone to primary fixed it.... But then my wife's phone can't text. Is it possible text messaging can only work with one phone setup as primary?
