Ludicrous Upgrade Scheduling?

Work appears to have begun on my car as they've been messing about in the frunk.

Perhaps.

Or...

Tyson's Corner Service Tech 1 - "Those guys on TMC are getting pretty antsy about whether or not we're actually going to upgrade their cars this week."
Tyson's Corner Service Tech 2 - "Yeah, what's the deal with those guys from California? Are they going to show or what?"
TCST1 - "Who knows! I bet those guys on TMC are monitoring their cars like hawks, watching what we're doing."
TCST2 - "Yeah, we should turn off remote access."
TCST1 - "Nah, I have a better idea. Watch this. <Pops frunk.> Now they'll think we're actually DOING something. Heh!"

(The above is intended as an obvious attempt at humor. No offense intended towards the service techs at Tysons Corners, who I have never met, or to any other Tesla Service Techs. IT'S A JOKE!)

They can start off with the steps they know already. For example, I'm sure they know how to remove the battery pack already since that is a general thing. That way they can get things in progress for the techs to arrive.

They're going to do the work anyway? Ugh, I hope nobody gets hurt.

On my way to pick up the Enterprise car with the Tesla guy, he told me that there are regional battery specialists who have advanced training from the factory and that one of those guys was there at Tyco this week. They have been doing something to drain the battery. I gave it to them at 27% and they've got it down to 16% now. Perhaps I'm OCD, but it's fun to "watch."

I'm assuming they all have lots of safety training about high voltage. I can't imagine they'd do anything dangerous without proper training.

And just as I typed this, it all goes dark. Either they pulled the pack or they shut me out. Can't wait to see it on the other side.

I was at Tyson's just around noon - apparently the same time as you. I was set to get a rental but they offered me a P85+ loaner, which I gladly took. I must have looked old and confused, so they took pity on me. I was looking forward to letting all of you here know that their people were going to do it, but I see that's now old news. When they told me I muttered something snarky about being the third guy so mine wouldn't be the fireball, but I don't think they heard it.

EDIT: looking at your other posts I guess you dropped it off at a different time. I just looked at the time of your last post. I guess I'm still old and confused.

My car's "gone dark" and not responding to remote access, so maybe they ARE doing my car first? :scared:
As of this moment mine is in the same space in their parking lot as when I left: I like the app's high-res GPS.

They called me around 7 last night and said they were at 60% complete. As of 10:30 this morning, the car still isn't responding to the app. They did say they would have to redo the firmware. I wonder if there is already a sub release or if they just have to reconfigure the same version.

Was curious about this, in the context of 7.1 now. Hope it's more of a config difference rather than a release fork, purely from a stability/maintainability perspective.

We (current and wannabe) P85D w/ Ludis wouldn't want to be too far off the reservation when it comes to all future firmware updates.

@sorka or other folks who got Ludi already, did you get 7.1 OTA yet?

They just called and described it as 80% complete. It sounds like they don't expect to be done until 3 or 4 this afternoon. Unless they are working on uberanalyst in parallel, I'd guess this means they are a couple days behind schedule. I try to avoid naming the service folks when there is an issue, but I guess its OK to say that I find Carlos (who I think is some kind of lead there) to be a tremendous resource. He is super-dilgent about providing consistent feedback and a tremendous asset to the Tyco Road location.
