M3P and radar detectors in USB

How much of a drain are the top radar detectors if they are plugged into the USB outlet? Anyone have an Escort 360C or Uniden R7? I’m waiting for the Radenso Theia detector to come to market and worried about it draining the battery if plugged into the USB. Thoughts?

Check the radar detector(s) specs for power consumption. Double check that it's amperage at 5V (USB). Should be stated as amps (ideally) or watts (divide watts by 5 to obtain amps). I assume that the car's USB ports are rated at about 2.5A so compare the two figures. Then you should know how much of a "drain" the radar detector will place on the USB system.

yeah the 12v is very poorly located, especially with there being no pass-through to the big front area without cutting a hole or taking parts of the console apart to try and thread a wire behind/under a panel.

A good audio shop that is used to Teslas can wire the radar detector inside of the dash. It runs through the pillar to the mirror and just use a Blendmount to mount the radar to the mirror. I think it cost me $100 for them to do this.
