Trump's inclusion of religious sites in his 52 targets within Iran if there is retaliation for recent high value killings in Iraq means he desires provoking a holy justification for further acts against the US. What a courageous man he is, unlike Henry Stimson who nixed Kyoto as a target for the first atomic bomb. But then Republicans were different.

So not true. The religious zealots have shown they will use human shields and the like to protect military assets.

All his statement shows is that "nothing is off the table" and "you have no where to hide if you hit Americans or American interests."

The degree to which you guys try to pick apart his every move is truly amazing.

Let's not forget that Trump has a LONG WAY to go to catch up to Obama in terms of the number of bombs dropped:
The map that shows where Barack Obama dropped his 20,000 bombs

EDIT - and this is the guy they gave the Nobel Peace Prize to . . .

Brought over from the Main forum the following article from Auto News. One might consider using its data as a refutation the next time someone hauls out how well the economy and US manufacturing has been doing since 2016. Referencing its relevant inset table:

THE 17 MILLION ERA
Before 2015, U.S. light-vehicle sales had topped
17 million just twice, in 2000 and 2001.
Ford's 2019 tally, released Monday, boosted the
industry above that mark for a 5th-straight year.

2015 17,482,841
2016 17,553,429
2017 17,238,915
2018 17,318,961
2019 17,108,156

2020 vision: Lower but stable sales in the U.S.

Alternatively, one might conclude that sales of consumers' most important repeated purchase - given home sales turn over far more infrequently - has been consistently down since the last Presidential election, most recently having accumulated a 4 percent decline.

That certainly is correct but a more complete picture is that culturally-educated Stimson had unflaggingly protected Kyoto and neighboring Nara from the very beginning of the US's bombing of Japan.

As a Putin stooge, our president is doing a great job. All my training as a Soviet specialist provides color. They have a lot of kompromot on our orange one which only Trumpsters can deny.

The Putin stooge bit has been disproven by a thorough investigation which cost the country tens of millions of dollars. Do you frequently repeat false information? It doesn't do service to the credibility of your posts.

In fact, this president has put harsher sanctions on Russia than Obama ever did.

He also was never caught on a hot mic saying basically "after the election I'll be in a better position to help Russia." Obama was.

Because this news article discussing Trump reaching out to Jimmy Carter for advice on China from April of last year became extremely relevant with the events in Iran and at the Tesla Gigafactory this last week........

"In China, meanwhile, the economic benefits of peace were clear to the eye. "How many miles of high-speed railroad do we have in this country?" he asked. While China has some 18,000 miles of high-speed rail, the U.S. has "wasted, I think, $3 trillion" on military spending. "It's more than you can imagine. China has not wasted a single penny on war, and that's why they're ahead of us. In almost every way.....

Carter—who normalized diplomatic relations between Washington and Beijing in 1979—suggested that China's breakneck growth had been facilitated by sensible investment and buoyed by peace. "Since 1979, do you know how many times China has been at war with anybody?" Carter asked. "None. And we have stayed at war." The U.S., he noted, has only enjoyed 16 years of peace in its 242-year history, making the country "the most warlike nation in the history of the world," Carter said. This is, he said, because of America's tendency to force other nations to "adopt our American principles.""

Jimmy Carter took call about China from concerned Donald Trump: "China has not wasted a single penny on war"

But China's policies are much more strategic than simply avoiding war IMHO. They have literally doubled down on their economic bet because at the same time China has also transitioned its focus towards 100% renewable energy and 100% adoption of Electric Vehicles.......further implementing China's integrated vision of "no need for wars because no dependence on fossil fuels."

When we visited China we saw the US in the rear view mirror while we watched renewable energy projects and exciting new infrastructure literally springing up all around us. Last night Tesla delivered its first vehicles to customers from their new Gigafactory 3 in Shanghai - a site that was an empty field only 1 year ago. And investment money for this project came from China.........not Wall Street. And now China may soon pass policy to end fossil fuel vehicle sales by 2030.

It is good to be reminded of Jimmy Carter while our elected officials on both sides of the aisle have just passed Military Budgets that are 50% larger than during the height of the Iraq War, and we are now at the tipping point with a war with Iran. For it was Jimmy Carter who put Solar Panels on the White House roof. And one of the very first actions of the Reagan Administration was to take those solar panels down and refer to them as "just a joke." In hindsight perhaps those solar panels were worth several $Trillion

@bkp_duke
So are you saying he will or will not resign, stay in office forever somehow.
Please don’t pussyfoot around, be direct
I somewhat expect trump to try to flee to a non extradition country

I am saying he will not resign because he's been impeached. If the Senate convicts, then of course he will be removed from office (not the same as resigning).

I have zero expectations of the Senate convicting him, and Pelosi knows as much or she would not be stonewalling on sending over the (very vague) articles of impeachment passed along party lines.

Thank you for being more clear.
