Matte finish seat backs now standard?

Is the material used for the base just like the seat backs (leather-like), or is it black matte plastic?
It's black matte Plastic, but it feels rubberized and somewhat leathery. It's good, does't feel cheap.

Snapped this pic at the showroom:

Sorry Yoonoo, I missed your Q. The 6" base sides (only door facing sides are visible) is a harder, lightly textured plastic and not as nice as the seat backs. Its the same set up as in my S, slightly textured on the bottom 6 inches or so, and then the seat sits on top of it. From the back its not visble at all since the new matte backs extend all the way down, connecting with a heavy black fabric under the seat. I have the white seats so everything else is black and it all blends in. Not sure about the lighter interiors though.
