Mid February West Coast US

Trying to see if this is a good idea in mid winter - I wrote this off after thinking about it last night, but saw that Firefall at Yosemite is mid winter, so I'm going to think about this some more.

We want to hit the national parks on the way to Los Angeles and Las Vegas, Yosemite, Joshua Tree, Death Valley, etc.

How are the roads mid winter? Good idea or bad idea?

You will likely encounter places with a lot of snow, especially at the higher elevations. Certain sections of the parks, if not all, you mentioned could be closed or not accessible.
Personally, I would defer the trip to Fall or Spring time.

That's what I'm leaning towards. I think late-spring before it's officially summer vacation would be a good time.
