I saw this driving around Albany, CA today. Thought it was pretty cool, looks like they're measuring something on the wheels.

I understand that Tesla aims toward unconventional technology, but those curb feelers are just not going to cut it.

But need about twenty more gadgets to confirm. Though why didn't they go black to save the shareholders a grand?

Just wanna state for the record that I too saw those articles....

I'm pretty sure those are wheel force transducers, used to measure the forces and moments on the wheels while driving. Those are usually used to gather data whenever a significant change is made to either the suspension or the vehicle mass. So it makes sense that this could be an early AWD 3.
