Dude why you giving up? Eventually you'll get your car & will regret canceling it when you see them on the road. If it makes you feel better, I placed my order on Oct. 1st & still no VIN. A week after I placed my order I hired an electrician to installed my 240v 50amp outlet for the nema 14-50. Just be patient.
Well I wouldn't say it is a question of "if" but "when"? And the new problem is if it is after 12/3/19 then any car costing over $60k will no longer get the California $2500 rebate. And those under $60k the rebate goes down to $2000.
Don't get discouraged! You'll probably hear something in 2 weeks or so which would be on par for a early Dec delivery. My SA just left my a voicemail today and claimed it will be early Dec for my order and I ordered 3 days after you!
Well, thanks for all the encouraging words - I appreciate that. If I hear in 2-3 weeks - then I will keep on with this. I guess that it is really annoying me that we are being strung along by Tesla. Two different people at Tesla hardly ever say the same thing. I was told by SA's and by the website for many weeks it would be 2, maybe 3, weeks. I think 7-8 weeks is enough time given the situation.
I think many people will admit that this Tesla waiting is really hard to stomach. To spend any amount of money in the tens of thousands - and be treated as poorly as we are - is getting very old very quickly. What I am feeling is the reason a LOT of people don't even consider Tesla.
Even this US Tesla shortage is artificial. Tesla chose to send many tens of thousands of cars overseas instead of looking to satisfy it's home base. They can survive while taking care of the US as well. Do you really think it was an oversight that they had their website say 2-3 weeks in most places until a few days ago? No.
I'll give it 2-3 weeks - until after Thanksgiving. Tesla does not need my business - and I'm sure there are a lot of people here that will tell me I am too "wimpy" for a Tesla. That is also very annoying! If I get too much of that - I'll run down the freeway and put my money down on a Porsche Taycan (not turbo) and wait with a smile! It's a ticket magnet for sure, but what the hell!
So until the end of the month I am here. Who knows, maybe I (and other's also) will hear some good news and hope they deliver early December. I hope this goes well for all of us. But like any self-respecting person, I am also placing limits on this.
Waiting 2-3 weeks and realizing that Tesla knew all along that it would be longer is a big part of it. I was told 2-3 weeks until this past weekend on my order page. I mean that is crappy to do to a customer. Tesla makes great cars but they way they treat customers (if customer is the right word ) really sucks. The whole process is ridiculous and it doesn't need to be this way. Tesla management consciously decides that this is the way the buying experience should be. Do you really think this is random and out of Tesla's hands?Serious question, are you mainly upset that you were told 2-3 weeks and it is now taking longer? Yes, I agree it sucks and its frustrating, I am waiting for VIN assignment as well (ordered on 10/16). But honestly what is your rush? I imagine you're not hurting to have a car right NOW..either way, I am patiently waiting for my car because I know it's something I still want to enjoy ultimately.
I chose Tesla and ruled out a Model S because it was too large for my tastes. The model 3 looked and drove reasonably, so I wanted one.
Do we need front license plate in California? I heard tesla got rid of front license plates, wondering if we need it to comply with the law.
We believe these are cars bouncing back from Canada as they are all 2019s. This does not represent large scale shipments to CaliforniaWoah guys, was checking Tezz.la this morning and saw no cars available.. refreshed it a few minutes later and about 7 cars popped up all over California and Hawaii. This has to be good news right?

@djf Corte Madera is a showroom. The service center is in San Rafael, but it’s not a delivery center. I wish it was!
Only two Bay Area delivery centers are San Francisco and Fremont. Think they are about to get very busy?
Thx but do note: Tesla Support specifically told me to contact Corte Madera!
No he means buy the car, get the CA rebate at $2000, then get the federal rebate. Add the FSD later so you don't miss out on the $2000 from CA
Starting December 3, terms for the CA rebate are changing. Limited to $2000 instead of $2500, also limited to 1 rebate per person nowWait, what: there is a limit on the California rebate?
