Model Y Insurance Cost

Let's open a dialogue about Model Y auto insurance costs. The M3 is higher than most ICE cars to ensure on average from what I've seen/heard. Do you think the Model Y will be close to the rates the M3 sees? Perhaps higher due to unibody construction? That's certainly an unknown for me with a pre-order on the MY.

I was quoted $2500 for 6 Months with Geico in Scarsdale, New York. (Burbs of NYC). It is $100 more than my 2018 E 63S gas guzzler. Premiums are super expensive, considering it's a fairly inexpensive car.

My driving record is clean. Everything in and around NYC is double or triple the price - Its unfair. It is what it is.

I have been trying to figure this out too. My insurance guy said he couldn’t give me a quote without a VIN. So, he wants me to buy the car then figure out how much to insure it. That’s lame.

My model 3 was roughly the same insurance cost as my fully-loaded Audi A3.....

In my area Model 3 insurance is about the same as a Honda Accord $100-150 a month

Agree too that, big cities suck. Out of a whim I asked my home insurance company for a quote on a Model X last year knowing that I would hopefully get my Model Y soon. They quoted me $2563 Cdn/year . Keep in mind I've never insured a car with them before, so no extras, and we didn't go into details for the little bits and bobs they might be able to shave off. But they gave me a base $$$...I live downtown Toronto.

i got quoted 1400 with all the bells and whistles AWD long range full glass coverage and the new vehicle one where they replace it if it gets unfixable. located in CANADA so about 1050 usd roughly.

great qustion. I asked AAA and they quoted me a crazy amount for the 3. They explained to me that its like owning a mercedes but worse because the parts are so difficult to get.

FYI tesla has their own car insurance which is way cheaper. Maybe we can look into that?

late reply, it was in their system, and i meant for model 3 awd. I was assuming it would be the same but i will double check.

Following here. Been a Geico customer for twenty years. Just placed an order for a AWD LR Y today. I prob have a year before I'll see it so planning on looking into it

If it's not the 3rd row seat option, delivery may be sooner than you expect, especially if you have the FSD option.
