Model y noise is it the battery

Hi just had my model y for a week and when I come back sometimes to the car it sounds like I have left the air con on have I or is this just the battery cooling down or something?

More than likely it is the BMS (battery management system) cooling the battery or doing other battery stuff. The BMS is pretty sophisticated and does a good job of looking after the battery. Mine makes noises at times too, particularly when it's hot or really cold outside.

You might have "Controls > Safety > Cabin Overheat Protection" on?

Yes, just accept that it's "doing stuff"! On a hot day it's cooling things down, on a cold day it's warming things up ... it can use waste heat from other parts of the car so it pumps fluids around accordingly (look up "octovalve" on youtube if you want to know the details).

yeah I think its normal, I sometimes catch my M3 whirring away, just assumed its doing Tesla things to maintain the battery etc.
