My CPO experience - Good so far

There are a lot of threads here with both horror stories of car conditions and necrosis inducing waiting periods. I wanted to share what my experience was so far...I'm not done quite yet...I go pick it up today!!!

So, I first placed a hold on a 2016 Model S on Vroom that was very, very nice. I was a little disturbed by not having the extended warranty of the CPO, but there was nothing local in my price range on the Tesla site, and I didn't want to pay $2500 to ship one.

Next morning, I am showing off my future purchase when I decide to navigate to the Tesla website to show why it was such a good deal compared to the others.

BOOM, there my (about to be) car was. Same color, a year older, but less miles and a few additional features that the 2016 didn't have. I hit the buy button right then and there because I knew Vroom would refund my deposit.

Then I came here and started reading the stories, and I started really worrying.

That was a Friday (last Friday). Monday I got a call from the delivery specialist and the finance person.
I also got pictures. They were high quality and showed the car to be in pretty good condition. A few scratches and rock chips. Went ahead and ordered the CARFAX report and it came back clean.
Finalized everything Tuesday, and am going to pick up today (Thursday)

I did a few things that I think helped me out.
  • I chose a car in my area that didn't have to be delivered
  • I opted to do financing through Tesla - actually rate was decent- figure I can always re-fi down the road if I want
  • I chose to not do a trade-in and sell it myself

All-in-all what is that? 5 working days?

Not too scabby in my opinion.

Awesome! I would be a little hesitant to buy from no CPO Tesla, but good to hear you got a good deal. Mind sharing specs and price?

I ordered a MS last Monday and am (hopefully) taking delivery tomorrow! I am so excited. Cheers!

Beautiful car
2015 Model S with AP1, Premium Interior and Lighting ~$62.5k, 35k miles.

They sent me to the wrong location initially but was able to get to the right place about 15 minutes later. Also had an error in the finance section on the contract but they fixed it while I was playing with the touch screen

After delivery I spent most of the night doing autopark in the neighborhood city center and playing with autopilot

Looks great, I wanted the metallic blue on mine too but had to settle for obsidian black.

Also my delivery is delayed due to the delivery person having to make more stops, i should expect delivery late Monday or first thing Tuesday :(

Almost got our used 2015 85D today- had an appt scheduled and everything is paid. We ordered it 6-23 it's coming to AZ from Fremont, Apparently missed the transport on Thursday and won't arrive in Tempe till 7-2 With the holiday Wed and all the 3's being delivered we won't be able to pick it up until 7-5 Bummer, I had hoped to get it by the end of June, We decided to get another S instead of a 3 at this time, paid about as much as we would have for a Performance 3, but we have a supercharging, sunroof, air suspension and a heated wheel in the S85D. Won't be as quick or nimble as a 3, but will probably be more comfortable on long road trips. So we are looking forward to it still though.

You’re gonna love it!!!
I did the same, cancelling my model 3 reservation. The S is awesome

Unfortunately, if you are the same as me, you’ll have a lot of sleepless nights until 7/5 due to the excitement

This may be little off topic but does anyone know if 2015 CPO models are reliable? I'm debating between getting a well fit 2015 Model S 85D to a 2016 Model S 75. Should I be worried of reliability or have those issues been addressed?
