MYLR - Pretty big spike for both 2022.8.2 and also 2022.4.5.17 at the same time - Why split?

I noticed a pretty big jump for two versions of updates for seemingly the same model car. This chart is only for MY.

Anyone with history know why this may be. This does not appear to be a FSD thing….

Different code bases might be a reason, like FSD beta (*although you think that's not it), or vision vs older cars, country specific etc. But I'm not seeing as big a spike for 2022.4.5.17, 2022.8.2 seems to have soared far higher now. When you select a particular version, you can see a world map that shows where it's distributed, along with some model and other criteria-based distribution. Imperfect since it only contains TeslaFi members but it's interesting information.
In this case, 2022.4.5.17 is only distributed in North America, whereas 2022.8.2 seems worldwide.

My pet theory is that potential new FSD Beta enrollments in North America are gathering up at 2022.4.5.17 for now (because the next fsd may still be in 2022.4.5.x), while everyone else is headed for 2022.8.2.
