Thanks, Let me discuss with my spouse and get back. It's in the Tesla for Sale forum on this site: December 2016 Model S 90 D with Autopilot 2.0 and Free Lifetime Supercharging
Thank you! That's what I planned as well. My sales advisor was pretty nice and he suggested that I could transfer if I'm not satisfied with this car.You will find I think AP1 works just fine. Ask to see the range and batt percentage to work out the batt condition, anything 95% or better is normal. If you see something you don't like, you have 7days to pick out another one. In my case, I could tell at first glance the car had been very lightly used and exceptionally well kept. Your fiance is a a Very lucky person!
Sounds like 90% of the people all love their Tesla no matter what they get.Welcome to the club...
Hope it works out
I actually have a Dec 2016 90D, and have enjoyed it like no other car
If still considering non Tesla financing, I just finished my approval with Sharonview credit union in NC and got 1.99 for 60 months. Non local residents can become members by joining a local organization for $20.Not sure if anybody is curious, but here's my update for the CPO delivery:
I got a call on the second day at 10:45PM EST after I paid the deposit. My delivery specialist is based in Fremont, California, and he knew about me wanting to get this car before mid-Feb for V-Day gift already. I guess my cpo advisor told him about it since they are in the same office.
My DS said that since it's shipped across the country to NJ, I need to complete all the 6 steps in the Tesla account asap. He scheduled my pickup to the Paramus, NJ sales center instead of Mt. Kisco where all the CPO cars seem to be. He also said that he couldn't give me an estimate delivery time at all. Maybe they got too many complaints about previous high promises and low deliveries, so they were trying to be conservative now.
As today, I applied for financing through Tesla and it gave me a rate of 3.99% from Wells Fargo. I shopped around some credit union websites and other banks, and decided that Tesla's rate is not bad, so I went with it. I also got insurance and everything loaded up to my Tesla account.
We'll see how they will schedule the shipping process.
That's an amazing rate! Can I ask how much your loan was? I asked around credit unions and didn't get anything less than 3.96.If still considering non Tesla financing, I just finished my approval with Sharonview credit union in NC and got 1.99 for 60 months. Link to spreadsheet - Tesla Loan Comparison Spreadsheet with auto updating ratesMy loan is $55k for my used model s. I have no idea how they can lend at such a low rate! There’s a good rate tracking spreadsheet in the forum below.

Clearpath credit union has 2.99 rate too.
My car is AP2 (currently up for sale) and has a VIN of 156xxx. I did delay delivery, so my VIN is lower than might be expected for an AP2 car delivered in December 2016. Just pointing out there are definitely AP2 cars with VINs way lower than 166k.
Whomever you spoke at Tesla with is most definitely wrong as my car is proof that there's an AP2 car with a VIN as low as 156455.Well, something is awful strange then. I talked to someone who is very familiar with production at Tesla (works there) and she said without any hesitation that VINS below 165K were NOT V2 hardware equipped. She was not able to find the exact VIN (first VIN) that was made with the new hardware but assured me that if I wanted the new equipment to only purchase something above 166K. That said, I guess your car could be a 'pre-production' unit where they were testing the new hardware.
Just to confirm, you have the cameras in both door sills and in both front fender Tesla badges? What is the mfg date on the label inside the drivers door? Was the car 'new' or a CPO? How many miles were on it when you took delivery?

I took delivery of my new Model S on 12/7/2016. IIRC, the date of manufacture is 11/2016 and it had 6 or 7 miles on it when I took delivery.
My car may be a bit of a unicorn as I originally placed my order in April 2016, 3 days before the refresh was announced, but knowing the refresh was coming. We actually ordered two cars the same day. After a couple weeks, we decided we didn't need to take delivery of 2 cars right away so I delayed mine for the maximum allowed six months. In October 2016, I asked for it to be delayed again since I knew AP2 was coming (see my posts from the October 2016 where I mentioned people "would be going APE" over the yet unannounced changes, referring to the upcoming Enhanced Autopilot, with option codes beginning with APE). I received my VIN but reminded them that my order was intentionally delayed. A week later, AP2 was announced.
You can see pictures of my my AP2 vehicle listed for sale here:

You can also see my Monroney sticker with the VIN and the $5000 Enhanced Autopilot option shown below.
Maybe your friend at Tesla transposed some digits...or maybe my 156xxx car is the lowest VIN AP2 production vehicle.
I'll just say that it's almost time for an upgrade.
I'll double-check my production date. I think it is 11/16 since I got mine in the first week of December and don't think they finished production and shipped it in less than a week. I'll confirm this afternoon. I do know that there was a long wait after the AP2 announcement before we actually ever saw any AP2 cars delivered in the US, as I got one of the first ones.Wow. Very interesting. I guess I don't know what to say other than you do have V2 with a VIN below 165K. And no, she was very specific about that VIN, although she said to make sure the mfg date was Dec 2016, as they changed over on 11/16 but you couldn't tell for sure by the label since it would only have month and year. I, by the way, was looking for a 60D. I wonder if Tesla took out a bunch of VINs for 90Ds earlier in the year but didn't make them, so these VINs were just 'held' until someone placed a firm order... That is the only thing I can think of.
Anyway, good to know. For sure, if people want a V2, make sure the production date is 12/16 or newer! That part is definitely correct.
Thanks!
I was correct: AP2 hardware and 11/16 build date.Wow. Very interesting. I guess I don't know what to say other than you do have V2 with a VIN below 165K. AP2 started with VINs above 166K, and a mfg date after Oct 17th. My VIN on the 60D was 170K with a 12/16 mfg date. I intentionally searched for months to find one built between 10/18 and 12/30/16 to get AP2, facelift, next gen seats and transferable free lifetime supercharging. I never found one that Tesla was offering on their site below 71K, so bought 3rd party dealer/leasing firm last month. Buying from Tesla does give you 4 years/50K mile warranty from the date you buy it but I have been unimpressed with the quality of cars they have sent me pictures of, and others have also said they were disappointed when they went to see the car they wanted to buy. Many say they did nothing other than wash it :-(
Good luck on your decision.
Were you able to keep the free supercharging?
