Damn. I picked up the Y on September 7. Nothing since then. The delivery specialist just told me to print those FAQs from NJ site saying of delays and put it in the glovebox. WTF. Any one know what I should do next except to call the delivery specialist and complain?

I'd give it a little more(of course I've got mine). I took delivery in Lawrenceville. They used FedEx

No. Signed & initialed a number of things at delivery time including some transfer stuff. I've attached a couple docs I signed that I think did it. But if you got a temporary registration, I'd think you are OK (other than not getting yours yet). Based on what I think the adviser said, I might have gotten mine quicker than expected.

Can anyone confirm that the $55,000 threshold to receive the rebate is exclusive of fees? I ordered a configuration that is below $54,000 but slightly above $55,000 including doc/destination fees.

SA reassured me that the limit is based on vehicle value only, but would be great to hear a confirmation.

You’re good bro. This is from Home | Charge Up New Jersey

The $55 K cap doesn’t include the destination and doc fees.

Part Three: Vehicle Eligibility
Pursuant to P.L.2019, c.362, an eligible vehicle for the Charge Up New Jersey program is defined as:
• A new light-duty plug-in electric vehicle;
• With a final MSRP* below $55,000;
• Purchased or leased in the State of New Jersey on or after January 17, 2020; and
• Registered in New Jersey.
* The MSRP cap of $55,000 refers to the final MSRP of the vehicle, which is set by the manufacturer, and is intended to encompass the value of the vehicle itself, in full. The manufacturer’s MSRP typically includes the costs associated with the trim level of the vehicle with all color options, wheel upgrades, drive train or battery upgrades, and other packages, such as entertainment system upgrades. Costs not generally included in the MSRP are: destination or delivery charges, sales and use taxes, additional maintenance or repair packages purchased from the dealership or showroom, documentation fees, registration fees, or add-ons which relate to the maintenance or operation of the vehicle, such as electric vehiclechargingpackages,floormats,firstaidkits,cargonets,etc. TheBoardreservestherighttoseek all available legal remedies if manufacturers adopt separate MSRPs for New Jersey that differ from the MSRP associated with the same car in other states or otherwise attempt to circumvent the statutory language.

Thank you!

Hey when you left delivery did they say they would email the 13 pages you signed. I picked mine up yesterday but they have not sent my mvpa to apply for the rebate. Could i use the one in the tesla account under glovebox (its the loan agreement but it isnt signed as i signed the hardcopy at tesla).

my delivery associate asked if I wanted it hard copy or email or both. Of course I said both. Got it as a pdf attachment certainly within a few hours. I'm not sure, but he might have been scanning it anyway to upload to Tesla someplace. If so, they should be able to get you a copy. Maybe others here know about loans. But if you have the temp registration with the VIN and the loan agreement with the VIN I'd think that would work

What you could do is make the application and ask the dealer. If NJ accepts, you're good. If not, hopefully you'll have the signed version by the time they reject you (you have 14 days to fix). At worst, you would have to re-apply. It's not like you'll be banned.

It does take months. I'm heading towards 2 months now and don't have "the check is in the mail" email. Others seem to have waited much longer.

Mine was sent to me electronically the same day by my SA. You should ask Tesla to do that for you. If you’re not approved based on inadequate info...you’ll have to reapply again. I’ll rather get the 13 pages from Tesla than send something I’m unsure about.

He would have 14 days to fix any problem. Below is a response I got when I asked about the status of mine. But yes, submitting correctly the first time seems best to me. You have to balance against the anxiety of not getting it in as quickly as you can to be sure they don't run out of money of Murphy cuts it (which would be understandable in these uncertain times)

From Charge UP NJ:

Thank you for your email. I have checked the status of your application. Your application is waiting on review. At the moment we are processing applications within 30 days of receiving the documents, delays can occur depending on the amount of applications we receive.

Once we get to your application you will receive email updates as your application moves through the system. These email updates will include when your application is submitted, request for more documents (if needed), approval, and finally, when your check is in the mail. If a request is made for more documents, you will have 14 days to reply.

Let us know if you have any other questions,

Ann King

To me, the anxiety is unsubstantiated but that’s just me. The fiscal year literally just started in October, how can 16 million run out in a month when ppl are barely buying new cars? They always said you’ll get your money as long as you send it in and it’s approved. It may not be as quick but it’s covid time. It’ll literally take minutes to send the full things, why submit, wait for approval, then get a message to get more documents, then ask Tesla ....oh well different strokes for different people.

I’m glad you reached out to Tesla. Sometimes you have to deal with them directly than go from info here ...the anxiety is out of control to be honest.

You’ll get your money. Happy driving!

I think being a bit anxious (perhaps not real anxiety) is justified. They did cut the prior budget. Nothing to say that Murphy won't halt payments. I watch his news conferences and he constantly complains about the lack of federal money.

Oh, and they have been cutting or at least deferring. The homestead rebates weren't paid in May. NJ is now saying 2021. No word on whether they will even pay the senor freeze. If they are starting to renegade on filed tax rebate stuff for the poor and senors I think it's reasonable to be a little nervous on rebates for people buying expensive cars.
