New owner autopilot question

Hi,
I just got my model Y (standard autopilot) last week. When I test drive it over the summer, the autopilot responded well to traffic lights by slowing to a stop, and starting driving with a chime when it turned green.
My model Y doesn’t do this. It just screamed (warning!) at me as I tested it out at a low speed at an intersection I know well and saw no cars waiting.
I read through prior threads, but I don’t see the options that others are suggesting. I have no traffic light aware button on the autopilot settings on the car. I read through the manual and it seems like it should still be functioning.
Any advice??
TIA

Purchasing "full self driving" option for 10k, or subscribing to it monthly for whatever that is ($199 a month? I dont know, I purchased FSD 3 years ago with my model 3) is required for that feature and a few others. Cars only come standard with "autopilot".

As for what you might be missing from the test drive car (which obviously had FSD based on your use of that feature):

You have traffic aware cruise contrrol and autosteer (if you did not purchase FSD). If you did purchase FSD, you will need to go into the menus and enable it some stuff.

That article was not published by Tesla, thus, their terminologies were all mixed up between the free Autopilot features and the extra-charge FSD features.

For reference, it's a good idea to read what you buy on the Tesla page as shown by @jjrandorin rather than to read the confusion from a non-Tesla page.

got it. I didn’t get that impression from the internet. I got it from the salesman at the dealer several months ago when they described autopilot. When I went back to check my memory, I looked to the internet.

It’s not a big deal to me. That’s not why I bought the car. i was just curious if this was a feature when I bought the car that was rolled back.

...I got it from the salesman at the dealer...

That's the problem with salespeople: They promise you something but they don't document that on the sales receipt and they've been getting away with it.

That's why Tesla's blog claimed it's done away with salespeople and instead, it would have "Tesla Product Specialists"

"They are not on commission and they will never pressure you to buy a car. Their goal and the sole metric of their success is to have you enjoy the experience of visiting so much that you look forward to returning again.

As it is, our Product Specialists could not sell you a car today under any circumstances, as Model S is already sold out several months in advance and there is no inventory on site. All they can do is get you to consider placing a reservation. Our stores are designed to be informative and interactive in a delightful way and are simply unlike the traditional dealership with several hundred cars in inventory that a commissioned salesperson is tasked with selling. Our technology is different, our car is different, and, as a result, our stores are intentionally different."
