New UI Lost Microphone Command Symbol?

I was riding as a passenger in our MY today (wife was driving. I'm a brave man...). Wanted to call a friend. Noticed there was no interface on the main screen to make the call, as the little microphone symbol that had been on the front of the old UI was now gone.

Anyone know where such an interface is now, short of going into the telephone symbol on the bottom of the screen?

You can right click on the right scroll bar on the steering wheel.

His point is the passenger can’t activate it. My wife would frequently press the voice activation button to choose new music. It’s just so much easier than the on screen keyboard search.

I also miss the on screen button.

Perhaps they'll bring it back if there is sufficient feedback.

I would think that prior to such a change Tesla would conduct at least some consumer testing to see if the changes planned are actually improving the user interface.
