No Autobrake at Low Speed

Perhaps your battery is full with no room for regen?
Sounds like you are not in hold mode.
It comes on below 5 mph. Turn it on in the driving menu item. Work perfect forward or backward.
I believe the OP is asking about why Automatic Emergency Braking isn't engaging at slow speeds and not asking about regenerative braking. Or more correctly if backing up the OP wants AP to "take over" control of the car if it "thinks" you are about to back into something (since Automatic Emergency Braking only works above 35MPH).

Of course the OP is a newbie and post is ambiguous so I may be confused on this.

Yes, that's that's pretty much what I was asking. More specifically, I was asking why that feature isn't implemented it at those speeds. I understand the reasoning, above.

Our last car had a few bumps and scrapes that would have been avoided had the car automatically stopped, but perhaps the warning tones will be enough to avoid those in the future.
