My DS said my delay is due to late arrival of the ship. This DS said Ekwng's delay is due to his color/options (which TD said need more time to do inspection....I don't understand this one.....). His car still haven't arrive but TD already informed Tesla that car need a longer inspection?!

About the event next Wednesday, he said there will be 5 Sig delivered to those VIPs.

CCT: Can’t agree with you more, and if TSLA hits 1,000, I’d be willing to work for them pro-bono for a year!

Has anyone reflected on the fact that Tesla is able to generate this much publicity and marketing with 0 marketing budget. When was the last time you saw a Tesla printed or TV ad!?

Complaining and finger pointing are one thing, but it doesn’t change the fact that everyone of us is not getting the car on our “expected” delivery date. If you’re comfortable with the fact that we’re essentially buying a glorified (albeit state-of-the-art) kit car / EV, we should recognise Tesla is still a start-up comparing to the likes of Mercedes with over 100 years of history and established infrastructure around the brand and its products.

Do continue to complain, as this is how they will know where to improve, but let’s not forget they also need a bit more patience and understanding as a start-up.

they originally thought next week's launch would be a "genuine" delivery of a few vehicles, that will no longer be the case. He didn't cite the specific reason (he vaguely mentioned shipping and TD issues), but it seems even the Signature vehicles would not be delivered at the end of this month.

My interpretation is that (1) even the deliveries at the top of DITB's list (i.e. the Signatures) are delayed 1-2 weeks; and (2) the rest of the deliveries will be more "spread out" such that as far as down as me on the list would be delayed 4-6 weeks from the original early September estimate I was given.

That is, there will be further delays. I subsequently found that my Delivery Specialist is pretty much a fresh graduate from university (finished Bachelors' in 2012 and Masters' in 2013). Certainly when he called me to deliver the "bad news" of the delay, I found him very unprepared.

Anyway, all of this doesn't bode well for us for dealing with Tesla going forward.

First, how come they email send out the invite to the customer that about the launch event? 2, People usually assume " estimate " are the time that they will excellently take delivery at that day. But the situation is same when you getting delay of your flight after you checked in, no one able to be 100% sure that you wont get delay. 3, I just want to ask you when you graduate from the school and working at your first job that you havent done before, are you really unprepared when you are taking the job to do by yourself without any supervising next to you? And the last, If Tesla doesnt going forward, how come they expend their service center? How come they sent out the invite of the launch event? Also why they are building up more supercharger for HK customer than other region?

Think about how long does Tesla HK operation size starting from Roadster to right now? Expending Service center that more than double size of the current location. How many supercharging station are installing in the same time? How many employee from couple years ago until now in Hong Kong?

Again it's communication skills and how to handle bad news.

I'm not sure why Tesla HK would leave a junior staff alone to handle the potentially PR bomb. Poor staff he can't help much because he is not familiar with all the procedures and paper works etc.

I've told him to ask management for more support. This is the first delivery in HK and is important for Tesla's image.

There are also many analysts nit picking Tesla and share holders watching...

Supposedly I'm #3 in the Sig reservation sequence, originally scheduled 24th delivery. Few days ago a guy from the delivery team called me (who dared not mention his name) said there were issues with TD about some options with Sigs that got the paperworks held up but the regular models are fine (sounds BS to me). Earliest is 31st. Let's see if there's yet another delay.

PS - I got grey too, could that be it???

A bit off topic, but when going to their new delivery office for the final payment, bring a hard folder or something like a writing board... it helps.

Welcome to the forums, JohnxII,

It's all a bit weird at the moment. Sometimes it seems like a bunch of headless chicken, though I'm sure they are working hard on the issue. Are you coming for the event tomorrow night?

If you wish to join in, sign up in the relevant thread. We have a WhatsApp list going as well, and will meet at Starbucks in Telford Plaza, Kowloon Bay, 5pm tomorrow.

Anyone had their car delivered yesterday? Mine was supposed to be delivered today, got pushed back a week "because of TD", now I just got a call from Clara finally admitting they simply can't cope with the work load and need to push back further for another week...:mad::mad:

I think a lot of you would agree with me that the car sold itself to us, not the HK team. And we bought the visions of Elon, not the astonishing service we're having. I won't have any expectation that they will keep this 7th Aug now... :cursing:

You know, makes me wonder how many cars they are delivering per day per staff during office hours. 2? 3? How many people are they in the delivery team? 2? 3? 4?

I called my DS after I saw John's post about another week delay (from Jul 31 to Aug 7). My DS said the company's best estimation for my delivery is August 5th. The funny thing is, Jul 31 is my wife's birthday and of course I told him please make sure I can get it on or before Jul 31. And now their latest estimation, Aug 5th, is my birthday...... I even told my DS to check my ID copy i gave him last time....

Instead of "can't cope with the work load" (from John's DS), my DS told me specifically that the delay for this batch is due to the free parcel shelf. He said the company has already submitted documents to HK Customs with the parcel shelf's value included in the car when it was still a $1900 optional item. But now it is free, so there is a $1900 discrepancy with the previous value they submitted to Customs and that's the reason it takes longer to clear this batch (but they should know this $1900 thing will delays our car after they did the clearance with those cars delivered last night and the DS couldn't give me a good explanation....) If he made this up, this time is more realistic.

Anyway , believe it or not, things happening in Tesla HK is just like urban legend....
