No Tech...was told I could just press handle?

My no tech is vin 9904. My car will unlock if I'm close to it. But it doesn't auto present handles. They have changed packages a few times as the updates have come out. My car still auto unlocks. Tesla should explain it the best.

Yes that is the problem, both Tesla employees and website as well as car manual still says that the car will auto unlock without tech. That is not acceptable. You buy a car without a feature it should have, that you have paid for.

It's worth complaining to someone about. How are you to know if the salespeople and manual both agree on how something works but it doesn't actually work that way? That's a problem.

The reality is that Tesla treats Tech as a mandatory package. Model S without it are truly treated as second-class vehicles, and little to no effort is made to ensure customers know how things work without it. Stuff like this comes up frequently.

do you mean every car as in every model s or just about every random car? Auto lock is not a feature on non-tech model s.

I meant any non tesla these days. This is all software as the car knows when the fob is inside or close by, try getting in the car, roll down the window and hanging the fob off the mirror, it will start. So there is no reason for tesla to not activate touch unlock and lock after closing the door like other non tesla cars do.

Should be standard IMO
