Non-owner First Production window just got pushed back

I cleared a spot for someone this week. I’ll plan to come back in about two years and probably just pick up the Model S I should have bought two years ago. If a model 3 with a more luxury ride is available by then I’ll consider it.

Still a believer.

I’m close to joining you. I regret not buying an S and enjoying it during this never ending wait.

Wow. Line waiter non-owner in Seattle
1st production : Mar-May '18
SD : Late 2018 !

Means, won't get tax credit if waiting for SD. Elon is making sure only people who buy expensive cars get federal credit.
I'm not sure about that. Troy's calculator puts me at ~16,800+ in line with delivery in early July. If Model S/X US sales continue at the same clip as they did last year, Tesla can sell ~18000 3s before they hit the limit, which would be in Q3 if Troy's estimate is accurate. My guess is Tesla will also hold back some late Q2 S/3/X deliveries if need be.

At the same time, if they can ramp really really quickly, they might go for 200k deliveries in early Q2, but they would have to ramp really really quickly.

BTW just got an "Update on Your Model 3 Reservation" email from Tesla. Just scanned it so no immediate thoughts on tone or substance. It was fairly brief and pointed to link to look at the Reservation page (which I already had checked out).

Online reservation at 8:30 night of reveal. Was Feb-March, now April-June. Standard battery shows late 2018. No way I'm paying $55k for first production. If I can't get the rebate by the time they release standard battery, adios Model 3. You are like virtual porn. You have me excited when I look at you. But when I'm back to reality, you're nothing but just a cool video.

I don’t want to get blamed or flamed, but I hit the cancel button Saturday night and money was in my checking account on Tuesday. At least they seem to have improved their timing on that process. :p

I am fully prepared to be stricken with regret over my decision. It just hasn’t happened yet.

Would a $3750 half-rebate do it? Because that's what it is looking like the first SRs will get. That's above the $30K mark you were would have been expecting but still below $35K including state taxes. EDIT: Wait, you're CA so you'll still be around the $30K mark.

Day 1 online. Now says April-June. I honestly think unless you were in-store reservation, looking more realistically at Q4 delivery so no more $7500 rebate and only $3750. Even with just a few Model 3 sales, the S & X could get Tesla over 200,000 sales in Q2. Does anyone know the current # sold, I can't find an updated figure.

Day one first in line, was Dec. - Feb. until yesterday and that was after the initial move, now:
