Noob nav audio question

Just got my Model X today, so pardon me for the incredibly basic question. How do I get rid of the audio prompts when navigating to a particular destination? I like the maps & the turn-by-turn instructions, but I prefer to just view them rather than be told them.

Just as a caution -- is can be distracting watching the maps. Listening to the prompts allows more attention to the road. I tried watching the map once, and wound up testing the emergency breaking.

Good point. I'll usually turn the audio on if I have no idea where I'm going as I agree with you that it's less distracting than staring at a map. And as much as I appreciate the emergency braking feature, I'd just as soon not use it. But, if I'm just messing around town where I know all but a turn or two on how to get to my destination, I tend to like it off as most of the voice prompts are unnecessary.

You can also adjust the volume (and I assume mute it) by using the left scroll wheel while the GPS is talking.
