NY EV Rebate - Only $500 for M3 Performance

They NY EV Rebate website has updated and no longer recognizes all M3 trims as having a $35k base price.

How the Drive Clean Rebate Works - NYSERDA

Model 3 Performance = $64k base
Only eligible for $500 rebate.

Other trims still get the full $2k.

This sucks. I just found this out last night when I got my final MVPA for today. Now I have to pay $1500 more on the downpayment. Oh well, at least I’m still getting the $7500.

Because ppl who can buy 60+k cars don`t need to be financially lured into buying an EV.

The same thing happend to incentives in germany f.e. and I have to agree with the reasoning there.
Leave the money pot for ppl for whom it actually matters. I´m actually surprised the normal LR still gets it.

That's fine, but it was part of my decision to order the performance. I'm already having second thoughts about it, so this doesn't help. My sales guy explicitly said the performance would get the $2,000

Will Tesla let me switch to non-performances AWD if I decide to, based on this?
