ohme locked in car unless....

It seems I can only unlock my Ohme charger by going in to the car selecting car/charging/unlock charger. Tesla app wont do it and I'd even hoped it might unlock as I walk up? Seems a hassle. Is that right or is either Ohme/Tesla app not working as it should? Thanks!

As far as I am aware, you open the car and use the screen (as you described) or use the app by clicking on charging icon (the lightning bolt) and then hit 'unlock charge port', which is just under the amps display.

I think some people have set up routines with NFC, but there is nothing like that as 'standard'.

A Tesla wall charger has a button on the plug...

I must admit, an 'Unlock Charge Port when unlocking car' option would a sensible addition...

The app should release the charger imo. Mine releases everything I’ve plugged into it.

^^^ This - pressing the button/link in the app should do it, especially if it works from the main screen.

I have an Ohme and it works fine for me. If it hasn't reached the charge level set you need to press the stop charging button before the unlock button becomes active.

Be aware of the caveats when using the manual release:

I have an Ohme and I just press the button next to the charge port on the car, releases ithe cable no problem even when charging (MX)

The cable won't release via the app if the car is still waking up. Either unlock the car first and wait for the 'clunk' from the battery isolators, then you should be able to press the lightening bolt in the app and then unlock the cable.
