Online Delivery Date Accuracy

Hello everyone,

I ordered my Model 3 SR+ from Tesla Vancouver on May 4th. I recently just finished accepting the trade in offer and the instant I finished that, my delivery date appeared on my Tesla account. It's got the delivery date listed as June 1st at 11:30am which seems extremely accurate, and matches the timeline I was given by the sales guy when ordering (4 weeks). However, I have yet to receive any calls, emails, smoke signals, or any other confirmation from Tesla themselves confirming this date. Do they just not bother telling people about this rather important date, or is the time shown on the website just an estimate? I have yet to be assigned a VIN, so I'm kind of wondering what is going on. Thanks!

Adam

Congrats Adam!

When I ordered mine back in January I had a text message within 12 hours of placing my order. This followed by email with things to complete on my Tesla profile. In the 7 days that followed leading up to my delivery date the VIN got assigned and showed up in the account information. I had maybe 1 other email and 2 calls one confirming my pickup appointment about 2 days prior and then another on the day of as I was actually driving to the SC. I hung up on the last call as I was driving and he wanted to go over my account. I was like I'll be there in 20 minutes and hung up.

I got to the SC and the person who called wasn't even located on-site. My car was in the delivery show room where I signed over my trade in, signed some other paperwork and handed over my bank draft. While the delivery agent did his thing with paperwork I checked over the car and when he came back pointed out two very minor issues which they took care of before I left for what has been a great 4 months and 7500 miles.

Thanks for the info, sounds about as organized as I expected, which isn't very, haha. I'll wait to a few days before delivery and if no correspondence from Tesla comes in, I'll reach out to them to confirm myself. I don't fancy taking a ferry and driving for 4 hours for nothing, haha. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Hi Adam,

Your June 1 delivery date is definitely a random and meaningless date for the time being. I’m not sure why it’s there at all, that is not normally how things go with Tesla. Once you see a VIN assigned to your account you know you will be close to taking delivery. Until then it’s anyone’s guess when they might get their car. Canadians do seem to wait a lot longer than folks in the US.

Hey Adam, I ordered mine on May 2, also just saw my delivery date show up a few days ago as May 25 for the Vancouver Powell St location. No VIN assigned. My Tesla app had stopped working for a week or so then started working again once the delivery date was assigned. I'll be phoning the delivery guy who first reached out to me after my order as I need to know the final amount owing so I can get a certified cheque readied. Hoping this delivery date is real.

Tesla will often give you a best estimate of delivery. As the real date of delivery gets firmed up, they will reach out to you with a more up to date estimate. Things happen when the car is going through it's final delivery and inspections, so try to remain flexible when they can give you a more firm ETA.

So you're pretty much in the same boat as me then, I'm curious to how our deliveries go. The lack of communication from Tesla is somewhat irritating, but it's a young company I suppose!

I ordered 5/5. On 5/11 got an estimated delivery date of 5/21. Got a call 2 days later that it would probably be in by the weekend and that they had a VIN for me. It wasn't on the webpage yet, but they gave it to me. 2 days later, they said they can deliver on 5/18, so I took it. Then the VIN showed up. Went to bank to make sure paper were in order, call insurance company. All is set for me to pick up my finance check today (5/18) and take delivery at 4pm.
If within 30 miles of delivery center, you have the option of them delivering it to your door. I took that so I can get things done at home on one of the few sunny nice say we had in months in NY. Some people might says how would I dare let them drive my car before me or even at all, but I think seeing the car approaching my house it better than visiting a delivery center with many cars in it.

Ordered p3d white on white it’s been 30 days. Site still says 2 weeks, no vin.

From same deliver center could have taken immediately MSM or Black p3d with white interior. After two weeks there were 3 more blacks and a msm within 100 miles.

The wait continues........

On 5/3, I ordered white:white, awd and 19 inch wheels. Delivery agent said " we r receiving cars and delivering car" I' ll call u. No other status. What is you best guess on vin # and delivery date ?
Fellow waiting Atlantan and have a Red/White, AWD, 19" & FSD ordered on April 25. Was checking my Tesla account twice a day hoping for a VIN. Then down to once a day. Now I haven't checked in a couple of days and feel no need to since pessimism has finally set in. Have a feeling Tesla is mainly building European & Chinese market cars with a few "easy/cheep delivery cost" west coast cars. Also looks like domestic white interior is defiantly SUPER SLOW and mostly just inventory models. At this point I think we east coasters will be relegated to near end of quarter deliveries.

I considered White/Whit and have emailed my delivery specialist a couple of times asking if any available. Are you scheduled for Alpharetta or Decatur delivery? Also did you get FSD? If so and your car gets here before mine I WILL steal it.:D

I’m going to Tesla today to order the same White/White Performance. Hopefully they make them in batches and start that combo tomorrow!
