Ontario License Fee $189

Was finalizing my payment today, for a late March pickup and noticed a license fee of $189 has been added for Ontario.

MTO prices are $59 for plates and permit + $32 permit = $91 all in. Post March 13, the $120 sticker fee should not apply.

This leaves $98 unexplained- has anyone had luck getting this refunded?

From my experience, Tesla overcharges for the licensing fee. They do not refund the difference either. Even during my Model Y delivery they shook me down for another $10 or $20 for the licensing fee before we could complete the delivery.

Did you check with Tesla rep? I don't think they updated this fee yet.

Spoke to my Tesla rep and the $189 is a "standard charge." There was no mention of an update after the March 13 MTO fee removal.

Guess Ill ask again next week!

I just spoke to my SA about this yesterday and he says the fee will be revised when I schedule my pickup (which should be any day now). I'll lyk if that actually happens.

Got a reply from my SA who said the fee is now $59. Dealers will mail a cheque a few weeks after delivery for the difference.

I got the paperwork adjusted when I picked up on Mar14th. I suppose I was the first one to mention that to the SC at Vaughan

Logged in tonight and the fee has been reduced to $59! Looks like I can avoid the refund mess.
