Model S will be on display
which one ? ... one of the "Alpha" Models ?
I don't know: I will report back after the event. I suspect it is the same one shown previously at various auto shows... I have yet to see it in person, so this seems like a good opportunity as it will be only a few minutes drive from my house.
If it is the alpha build... wow TM you guys have been working some long hours to get it up to spec. If indeed it is the "alpha" version, find out how long did it take to build and the when did they start the process. Have fun and take lots of pictures.
My guess is that this is how Tesla is introducing the alpha to the world...
Not the LA Auto show?
I suppose maybe not since they can pull more press on their own and the LA Motor Show is too expensive and too public to show a version which is officially only for internal testing. I sure hope that is what they will show this weekend.
Just talked with my Menlo Park Sales Rep, and he says the open house is open to all, and the car is the same "show car" we've all seen before, NOT an alpha build. I would guess the alpha release would be a much bigger deal, Elon, cute reporters (that's what I've seen so far anyway), Lights, Camera, Action. Go Tesla! Go Model S!
Well, there you go. My guess is completely wrong. Eh.
Yes, *the* demo prototype in red was in the front window of the showroom today.
Looked like a good turnout too. Plenty of Roadsters to look at as well.
