I don't have the service plan, so I just replace the batteries myself. Every 6 months or so just to be pro-active. If you live near an Ikea, get this on your next visit:

Just thought I'd add that even after 3 years, IKEA's price on the 8 pack of batteries is still a very reasonable $2.99...price has gone up due to so many Tesla's using up the Li supply!
