P100DL ordered 11/15****

You're in the Model S forum, so assuming that's correct that sucks.

I'm in a similar situation. Ordered 11/17 and confirmed 11/19 and was promised 2016 delivery. S P100D. When I ordered it said late December. When I confirmed it changed to late December/early January.

Went into production 12/12 and is still in ****ing production. Means I'm going to have to wait a year for the tax credit. Annoying.

More importantly I want my car. I'm excited and I hate waiting. I also have not been impressed with the implication I'd get it right after Christmas from my delivery specialist and that obviously not happening.

Perhaps there is an issue with the 100D batteries. All the 60/70/90 cars all arriving around us. I assume to hit quotas. Not cool to punish those spending the most. And by most I mean literally double the base 60 vs p100d

I just noticed that my vin # changed slightly; I will now have a 2017 Model S

What are the specs on your car? Mine is a fully loaded all options with glass roof. I don't understand why yours hasn't entered production yet?

UPDATE: Just got this in an email from tesla:

Production is complete and your Tesla is being prepared for transit to your Delivery Center. We estimate that your vehicle will be ready for delivery between February, 2017 - Early March, 2017

Just finished writing scathing email to my deliver specialist who just told me two days ago I'd have it next week. Super upset.

I'm confused. Your car has completed production and you live in the USA. WORST case is 4 weeks from now. More likely 2 weeks. I think the website is a little confused or hasn't updated.

My delivery specialist told me two days ago I'd have it next week. The email I just got says February to March. So obviously one of them is wrong. I live in Midwest. So if Tesla is deciding not to deliver here and send cars elsewhere they are going to end up with the car permananetly.

They can't ship your car somewhere else. It doesn't work that way. The website and that email is just wrong. In the midwest they typically train cars, so it can take 3 weeks, but much less if they truck it. They go to an intermediate depot now and get prepped there.

Well, there's that. :)

If you want it quicker have you considered an inventory vehicle? You could ask your DS whether there is anything in inventory that matches (or closely matches) your order.

Mine is fully loaded as well with all glass roof; yours a 2016 or 2017?

You can reduce your annual withholding on your W2 by $7,500 ($625/month) Starting in January for all of 2017 and save money each month rather than waiting for an interest free refund in April 2018.

That's actually great advice. My taxes are more complicated than a simple withholding adjustment but based on your idea I'll find a way to compensate! Thanks!

I ordered my P100DL on 11/15; I emailed my delivery specialist yesterday and he is saying that I wont get my car until mid to late Feb 2017. I thought Tesla promised before end of year if ordered by 11/19?
Another way to look at it is that your car won't depreciate as much since your car would be officially a 2017 year model. 2 months difference in real time, but you get one year fewer depreciation. I would be happy if I was you.
