Paint chipping from C pillar trim?

Hey all,
Just noticed the C pillar is chipping the paint as it seems to be very close to the body. Has anyone had this issue? It’s going tomorrow for service just wanted to hear thoughts.
It’s happening on both sides.

Not normal wear and tear. Service is the right call by they may refer you to a body shop.

Is it “normal wear and tear” when a potentially misaligned trim piece is causing the damage though?

It’s not normal, no. But the damage seems to extend beyond where the trim is rubbing and seems extensive. Surprised you didn’t notice earlier and bring it up to service. I had the upper side of this trim rubbing the trunk liftgate and brought it up as soon as I noticed. Had minor paint blemishing but nothing like this. They realigned the rear quarter window. The service center may try to deflect you to a body shop at your own expense but I’d argue otherwise if the trim is found to rub.

I’m surprised I didn’t notice it earlier either tbh. I’m always paying attention to dings and such. The other side is much smaller but u can see it’s starting to chip too. We will see what comes of tomorrow’s appt.

Just wanted to give an update, they finally saw it and agreed that it’s a warranty claim caused by the trim installation alignment. It’s going to body shop and all that to get corrected.

And they better replace that rear quarter glass and trim piece (the trim alone is not replace-able) and realign it
