Traveled down to Indianapolis to pick up my red Model S 75D today, and I'm happy to report that everything went beautifully. Thanks to this forum, I had some good questions to ask and new what to check to be sure it would be all right. The car was fully charged, clean (despite the messy, freezing weather), and ready to go. I got more than an hour of walk-thru on the functionality and a card from the delivery specialist for questions later. Zero up-sell.
The long drive north again was terrific (again, despite the 9°F weather), and I couldn't be happier. The cold certainly sapped a lot of range, and the cabin temp dropped below my temperature setting. I may have it "eco mode" or whatever, which reduces the climate control effectiveness, but I couldn't find that setting even after stopping to give it a good looking over. I'll have to search the manual.
Stopped a couple of other times as well and kept having to fight the urge to gas up. (Never again!)
