Performance Waiting Room

Picked it up this morning! Pics to come, as I'm currently waiting on the initial state inspection (yay, PA!) a bit down the road from the service center. They've gotten a lot of cars lately -- there were two blue/white cars in the lot, one performance and one not, and at least one red one still on the truck, among 10 or 15 model 3s lined up in the front aisle. Someone was taking delivery of a performance when we arrived, and another person arrived for a delivery before we left.

There were some extremely minor cosmetic issues -- some leftover protective film and adhesive, one spot they buffed out, one small bit of unidentifiable goop we removed. It seems like there's a slightly larger gap on the left side of the trunk than the right, but you have to really be looking, and I can't find it within myself to care enough to spend another minute away from the car. :)

It has 7.105 and already says there's a firmware update available, but we haven't had 25 minutes to do it yet. It had 5 on the odometer and was charged to 245 miles.

There was a NEMA 14-50 adapter in the charging kit. There were no phone charging cables -- they said those are no longer included. It's OK with me as I already bought a wireless charging kit.

I noticed a few people having trouble with autopilot calibration, and just want to mention they left plastic film over the outside of the pillars, including the cameras there. It wasn't obvious unless you looked closely. If AP is complaining, that might be worth checking.

The AC was off and when I turned it on it said "low" but went immediately to full-blast cold. I turned it right off again! It took me a minute to figure out that I needed to change away from "low" to get to an actual temperature setting. :)

Anyway, so far so good! Now I'm just waiting on my chance to drive more than 2 miles.

Good morning folks! I ordered my white on white on April 30th and this morning I got an email saying that I need to pay my balance. At the same time I received a text indicating that my M3P is tentatively scheduled to be delivered to my house tomorrow! I certainly didn’t expect this text because I thought this was way too quick based on the posts I’ve read here and I live in San Jose and I was expecting to pick it up at Fremont. Is this normal?

Definitely a good morning!!
Received an email this morning to pay my balance, immediately after a text message tentatively scheduling delivery for 5/9. This is for the white/white config so it sounds like there is a batch being delivered for those who have been waiting like me.

Kind of weird to see such quick VIN assignments to delivery dates. My delivery guy was pretty adamant that I do NOT secure financing until I get a VIN assigned. If I get a VIN a day or two before delivery, I'm not sure how exactly I could manage that. Local rates are 3.99%, Tesla's published is 4.25% (but I think they'll do 3.75%), but USAA is 3.04%. That's what I'm hoping to do, but I can't do it in such short order.

So.. to commemorate 30 days since my order on 4/7 of white on black with FSD I got an email from Tesla subject ‘Next Steps For Your Model 3 Delivery’. It lists ‘action required’ for all of the items like delivery location, trade in, drivers license, etc. that have been provided since the day I ordered. So.. I called in and entered my zip code which sent me to the Charlotte SC. I explained the situation and asked what it is they need. I still have no VIN.
She said ‘I’m showing a VIN for you’! She checked location and it was on their lot! So.. I asked when I could pick it up and what the exact payout would be so I can get a certified check. She said she’d get me an email and I could pick it up In the next few days. Ughh. Let hope that day is today or tomorrow!
I find it interesting that the car made it all the way to the SC with no communication, no VIN.
Hopefully the end of the wait is coming.

I applied for a loan right after I ordered my car. Most credit unions will give you a pre approval for 30 days, some will do 60. You can only complete the paperwork for funding once the purchase agreement is available after a VIN is assigned. (going through the process now myself)

Yeah, I did that. But after I did, I found a better rate. WIll get crackin' on that in a second.......

Argh they keep pushing back my delivery date. From Today to tomorrow and now it got pushed back again to Saturday. After all this time, such a tease!

Also, when in this process do you get contacted by a delivery associate? I haven't heard anything, just been going on my tesla account.

I got pre-approved before placing my order through CU. When I placed my order online, as sales specialist told me to do, I entered all the information about my credit union under payment. Got delivery text this morning.

Sorry to hear that, wish I could give you my delivery for tomorrow, I need to push mine back to Saturday, too busy to deal with delivery till the weekend. Trying to figure out how to reschedule, rep from dealer said Tesla will call me.

Same thing happened to me. No one reached out to me even though I had a delivery date scheduled. Once I called the SC and got a hold of someone (took several calls until someone answered) they told me that the delivery date was scheduled automatically (and implied to disregard that).

My car wasn't even able to make it to the SC before the delivery date. I had to schedule it out a week later and I still have a challenge getting a hold of people at the SC to confirm the car has arrived.

My assumption is that you would not be contacted by a delivery associate until after your car arrives at the SC. Perhaps each SC is run differently, but if you want to know what's going on you have to call the SC and talk to someone.
