Power Meter shows acceleration while accelerator is not pushed

Hi guys,

I've been driving my model 3 for about 5 months now and I noticed this odd behavior recently. Sometimes when I'm at full stop waiting for traffic light, the power meter shows a tiny bit of acceleration (black bar), while my foot is off the pedal and car is in auto hold. See video link below

Is this a bug? Should I be concerned?

That is not an acceleration bar. It’s an energy use bar, from the battery (black) or to the battery (green).

It could be your HVAC system or battery recharging your 12 volt battery.

Not a bug or concern.

Ah ok this makes sense. It must been HVAC kicking in at that time. I always assumed that bar represented acceleration vs regen.

I see that behavior regularly when the battery is being preconditioned for supercharging.

That is not an acceleration bar. It’s an energy use bar, from the battery (black) or to the battery (green).

It is slightly more complicated now. Black (or dark gray) to the right is energy use. Green to the left is regen. Dark gray to the left is friction brakes.

I've noticed the car power braking just before coming to a stop using one pedal driving on a steep descending grade. The indicator will show a very small amount of positive torque (like in the video) just before coming to a stop. I'm guessing it's momentarily pushing against the friction brakes to bring the car to a stop as smoothly as possible.
