PPF or Ceramaic Coating - Choose One?

WHY NOT DO both PPF & a CERAMIC Coating instead of spending $6,000 on your whole car ???

We chose to wrap our Model 3 front end in 3M Scotchgard Pro which comes with a 10 year warranty on the film and a 5 year paint guarantee for rocks or road debris that might damage the film or the paint under it. Xpel does not offer this paint guarantee, nobody does but 3M.

After wrapping our Full Hood, Front Bumper, and Fenders, we did the Ceramic Pro on the entire car. PPF/Vinyl over the front end and and 9H on the rest of the car with the 5 year warranty. We paid $3,950 out the door with all leading edges wrapped. Our car looks amazing.

Here is the link and the price list. https://www.rpmtesla.com/clear-bra

We may get our wheels powder coated next !!

No offense but you’re in California and those prices are USD. Wish I could have gotten that price here but even then that’s $5200 Canadian. More than I was willing to spend.

Any chance you can get those pics I requested sometime this week? Really appreciate if you could. Thank you.

Sure, here’s a few close ups of edges let me know if there’s a particular spot you want to see. Honestly there’s a few parts like the mirrors that aren’t fully wrapped but it’s probably from the template, and some odd cuts but it’s fairly straight and as far as I can tell.

Thank you very much for this. Can you post a couple more of the underside of the frunk showing how the edges look there? Just want to see the finish. Also, where the front bumper meets the frunk lid. Is it wrapped up to the top edge of the bumper?

Thank you very much!

Yes the frunk is mostly wrapped except the top edge near windshield it tapers in there. Yes the front bumper has a wrapped edge meeting the frunk but there are edges near lights

Thank you very much.

Overall, are you satisfied and would you recommend their services?

I'm pretty easy going so I like the job, it does the job, it's pretty shiny, like it. For me, I wouldn't have noticed the edges unless someone pointed it out. Some other people I know would be bitching and complaining about little things here and there, for those people I would say you probably want to pay extra to get edges fully custom wrapped, and smartdetail does this but it costs a lot more and requires taking off parts.

I guess my only gripe was time management, as the car was in for an extra day (which meant it cured a little longer), and the place is a bit far for me coming from downtown east. The owner is a nice guy and will likely take care of any issues you have, I've done a couple cars with him so far so good.

Do you know approximately how much extra they were charging to get the edges wrapped as well?

Thanks again.

To confirm, you paid $1650 for the full front wrap and $1300 for the ceramic pro-plus? Did they wrap the headlights as well? Probably not but did they ceramic coat the wheels as well or is that an additional cost?

Did you get tint as well?

Sorry, I'm not sure the amount best you talk to him. I know originally on a full wrap it was a good $500-1000 more (as I was originally going to do full wrap)

Thanks again.

Yes they did XPEL XR (35%) tint on it, looks amazing, very close in color to the factory colors, that ran around $400. Also it's not ceramic pro-plus, it's opticoat pro plus (They are an authorized opticoat shop). In terms of cost, yes that's what I paid, plus $1200 for doors, but keep in mind I've had a couple cars done (friend's car + my other car + this car) with them previously, so my rate may be different

Yeah sorry, i mean opti-coat, just shortened it down to ceramic. Did they tint the back glass in one piece?

- Full Front: $1650
- Opti-Coat Pro: $1000
- Opti-Coat Pro Plus: $1300

I went with opticoat pro plus and full front. Also did doors that’s around $1200 extra was well worth it since my other car first week got a mark in the door at tim hortons which disappeared shortly after in the sun.

Was tempted to do full vehicle as it was almost there but for budgeting went for almost there

Are these prices in USD or CAD?
