Preconditioning question

If you count wear and tear on the car as using electricity from the main HV battery (thus putting more "miles" on it), then yes, there is additional wear and tear on the car by doing what you are doing.

I thought preconditioning doesn’t draw electricity from battery if charger plugged in. Am I wrong?

Nope it pulls from the battery. If you are plugged in, assuming you have enough amps at your outlet, it can keep up the charge. I only have a 30A 240V outlet though so when it's -40° my battery gets drained slightly when preconditioning.

Ok, makes sense. I have a 48A, 240V outlet. I have turned off preconditioning for the summer. Will worry about it in the Fall. Thanks.
