You need a better imagination. Why did people buy the 60 originally? To spend less. Why would they not upgrade? To avoid spending. I think most 60s will go this route.

Tesla's model (so far) almost always makes it a smarter move to trade in for a newer vehicle than to retrofit an existing one.

Thought he said 3000 for all 85 owners. I'm thinking worth it to get rid of A pack slower charging and making supercharger stops a little quicker as not needing the full charge so often.

The new options are scattered throughout the design studio. Battery upgrade and ludicrous are now upgrade options in the studio.

Ludicrous Speed Upgrade

Ludicrous Speed decreases the 0-60 mph time for Model S 10% to 2.8 seconds with a quarter mile time of 10.9 seconds. Time to 155 miles per hour is now 20% faster than a standard Model S Performance.

P85D is now a 10 second car, fast and the furious 15 will be proud!!!!

Yep, they said that in June. If they're having issues with autopilot working on *highways* I think we're in trouble.

That said, looks like I lost a few bets about the Model X coming with an 85kWh pack. Wasn't a 100kWh pack like everyone was saying, but I still lost since I said it wouldn't be > 85.

Yep. And they promised another 5% every year (at some point) OR 5%-10% every 2-3 years (at another point in the conference).

It was much more than a $3000 difference. I'm trying to figure out what the upgrade option is. If its $3000 I am all over that. If its $3000 for 85-90 but $20,000 for 60-90 then I am much less interested.

Same here. Got the 60 because it made more sense. Could make the math work for paying extra 10k to get an 85, though i tried very hard. I dont need that range very often either. But if it was 3-5k thats a much easier sell. Elon himself said current 85s shouldnt get the 90 and to wait for a 15% delta. That delta exists for everyone currently with less than 85kwh. So why not open it up?

I gotta admit if the price is < $5k for 85 to 90 upgrade, it's tempting for the Sig -- especially at the 8yr mark.

I'm not too sure it would cost the A pack users more. The next few days will tell when the details trickle out.
Tesla also gets an advantage by getting the A packs off the road.
