And how exactly can the IRS prove you purchased for resale? Perhaps you took delivery and found the car was not what you were looking for so you decided to sell it.

To get the rebate in MA, the vehicle midi be registered in your name for 36 months. Feds should have done that.

I want to know why this is viewed negatively. We put down $1k on a largely unknown car. By the time we are able to configure it why would it be wrong for us to resell it new if we decide we won't want it. It allows someone else to "cut" in line for a premium price. If I buy it for myself or if I resale it that doesn't affect anyone's wait. At this point we are seriously considering reselling it on release since our 14 model S is holding up so well.

there will be a tax credit available for that car, why are you concerned about who claims it?

My real concern is your concern about other people. But, that also concerns me. If anything, there is some concern somewhere. Hell if I can find it though.
