Private Reg Plate on Tesla Lease

Hi all,

Anyone have experience with adding a private plate to their Tesla when on Tesla FS Lease?

I have the Retention Doc, however in order to change myself I'd need the V5C Document number which of course I don't have as on lease they hold the V5C... And getting in touch with them is proving difficult!

So I have two options - Send them the retention document as ask them to do it (feel this will take forever!) or try and get the V5C Doc number from them and do it myself.

Anyone got any experience?

Hi Jar,

I added personal plate to my LeasePlan Tesla - ultimately you pay an admin fee for THEM to do it as they have the V5C. Oh and you have to put your plate in their name - or at least put them as authoriser (I forget the technical term).

Definitely possible, but be prepared to pay a small admin fee

What assurance do you have that whenever the car is turned in you get your plate back?
