I purchased a set of Hankook ION EV tires for my 2022 X today from Discount Tires. They are slightly quieter than the OEM Continentals, by roughly 3 to 4 db measured, so not a lot, but noticeable. Mostly in the very low frequency range. The amount of low frequency rumble is definitely reduced. Today was very windy here, and cold, around 35ºF, so not a great day to evaluate energy consumption. So the jury is still out on efficiency, but I expect similar, if not slightly better on a nicer day.
I asked to inspect the Continentals they removed, and I have to say I was impressed by the small amount of wear I saw, after 16,000 miles. I have no doubt they would have lasted 40,000 miles. Visually they looked great, and I hated to send them to the recycle bin. But there was a slight reduction of about 1/32 on the inside edges. I always run with suspension low. I did get an alignment by Tesla, right after delivery.
Overall, so far: Positive
