Purchasing in TN for out of state registration

What states can I register when purchasing Tesla in TN? I see there is considerably high tax in TN, does it make sense to buy in TN when comparing tax of my state at about 4%?

Try 6.25% in MA.

Trying to beat the system is gonna cause you headaches. Insurance won’t like it and you could end up getting screwed.

I'm in WA with 10.2%. Oregon next door has $0 Sales tax but when you bring the car home to get WA plates, you have to pay the Sales Tax on it. I think most states have the same thing. If you purchase in a state with lower sales tax you may have to pay the difference unless you wait a certain amount of time to change the plates
