Purpose of holiday update?

Most people think of it as getting access to this years light show for the holidays... I think of it as getting almost everyone "on the same page" once a year. Half the time I am a month behind everyone else with the new cool features, but once a year we all will be talking about the same update for at least a month

This year I think the mass update was to primarily to appease the NHTSA.

My only real problem with the holiday update is the moving of the user profiles button so it is now a 3 click (car, then user profile, then selected profile) instead of click on the main display and select profile... when it accidently uses my wife's profile it is a life threatening situation moving the seat forward and the steering wheel out (she is 4' 9" tall)... I need to be able to stop that madness immediately!
