Reading speed limit signs

The AP1 cars read the signs and use it for determining the speed limit. (Which is mostly nice until it reads a school zone speed during non-school zone hours, when on autopilot.) But it works pretty well during construction zones.
The AP2 cars do not read the signs yet. There just seems to be a very location accurate database for speed limits. But, if there is a construction speed limit or updated speed limit, it does not detect it.

maybe my terminology isn't spot on but the car most certainly "reads" the speed limit signs
It may appear to be doing so, but actually is not - rather it is "Looking up the speed limit" from a database based on your GPS location. One clue that this is the case is that Temporarily reduced speed limits (ie "Work Zones") will never show up correctly on your Model 3 display.
