Recent MYP Delivery Estimates

Uhhhh. My EDD was updated from 11/12-12/10 to…. Forever away. Ordered 9/10 and was told I’d have the car in Nov, I know they can’t promise that.

Now EDD= JANUARY 21 - FEBRUARY 18

WHATTHEFUCK.

But seriously, from what I’ve seen, most people that see this far out only have to wait a few days for it to move back…LOTS of EDD pushes today though. Curious to see if TesLike updates the estimates.

New orders for MYP still show December. Sounds like the system is screwing with us
I'm in VA, ordered on 9/20 and my EDD is showing 12/5-12/31 - but I'm guessing that I'll see mine push out again soon as well. Only hope is that they are retooling for a refresh.

ODD 9/16 MYP black/black no tow no fsd

EDD 10-4…10-24
Then switched to 10-30…11-19
Now this morning it switched too 11-15…12-12

Was told I would have my Model Y Performance in 6 weeks. Now it looks like it’ll be longer than 8 weeks just for a September order date. I’m in Tampa Florida.
There's a few of us that were told 4-6 weeks with OD in August still waiting. If the tax credit passes, I'm hoping they keep pushing my delivery date to January. At this point, I'm thinking Tesla only said that MYP gets delivered sooner to get more money out of people. I thought I read there were people with MYLR around my order date that got vin# before me.

So with hertz ordering m3 and soon to order my, will this affect the resale value of our cars? I hate to own a car that you can rent. Like where is the prestige on owning a tesla?
I wouldn't sour the taste of owning a Tesla, who cares.. they're renting you're owning. Plus I doubt renters will truly enjoy the benefits of living with a tesla in their short experience with it. Oh yeah you also have the performance model that will walk any rental.

It’ll be annoying people renting teslas and having to use superchargers everywhere taking up space. It’ll either turn them off having to wait on their trips not being used to it, or the car will sell itself and they will buy one.

Wow that sucks. The SA in the store definitely up sold us on the MYP for faster delivery but I have seen people with early October ODs get Vin numbers this week on on Reddit and some in here. I’m not sure how they choose who gets their car but it’s not organized from a consumers point of view.

When I ordered it was only a 3-4 week wait, and irc earlier that day it was as low as 2-3 weeks. This was before the EOQ push when things got pretty wild. Demos all over the place back then. Anyway, I’ll say it again …. 6 months to 9 months would suck… but 3-4 weeks turning into 3-4 months is worse. At least my Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4’s arrived today so I can stare at those. (265/35/21 and 275/35/21)

There are a few us who got screwed and then told to stop whining. "90% chance of October" was all we got. "Middle of November" is what we got next. And then.... and then.... and then....

"Stop whining! You'll get your car eventually! Chill out!"

I picked up my MYP today at the Tesla factory in Fremont, CA!!!

Pickup was contactless.
What a great experience not having to go into "the finance managers:" office to sign papers and deal with attempted add ons. I will never buy another car where I have to do that again.

Everything signed online. Got a text message right in the middle of my 11a-12pm window indicating what parking spot the car was in. Car was clean, no issues at all. No scratches / scuffs / misalignments / tears / fingerprints or other.

My 15yo son and I drove her home with a huge smile on our faces.

Order to delivery 31 days. 7 EDD changes (most in the same-ish range).

Things I liked:
  • Online ordering
  • Not haggling
  • Online ordering:
  • Showroom experience: I did test drive at a showroom. The showroom experience was unexpectedly nice! No pressure. High willingness to introduce me in a very pleasant way to a good product. Offers to test drive with zero of the typical, "What's it going to take to get you in one of these babies today?" type questions.
  • Contactless delivery (Love this)
  • Delivery appointment setup.
Things that could Improve:
  • EDD Stability: Though they did meet the promise of an October delivery from a Sept order, the "moving EDD" game kinda sucked. It could do with a bit of stability.
  • Signage to the delivery location when arriving at Tesla in Fremont could do with a bit of beefing up.

For those of you still waiting:
16 DAYS TILL THE Mid-Nov RAIN OF VINs EVENT!!! It's happening!!!
Tesla is going to clear out the backlog !! @Starway2001 I'm looking at you!
I hope your car has a sister that was manufactured with it en route to New York soon. Looks the same as what I ordered -- but during September. EDD at this point is Nov20-Dec18. We will see.....

Don't know how many of you fell the same way as I do but I'm doubting this purchase already.
- The order push is out of control.
- Zero communication from anyone.
and now with hertz ordering 3's and future Y's, we are going to see them like a dime a dozen. not to mentioned the hurt on the resale value. thinking of forgetting this and pick up a GTR or something else. Porsche 911 maybe?

If there were actual cars on lots right now that aren’t $10k over sticker then yes I agree with you! 100%. The casual disrespect presented by Tesla’s front of the house after the EOQ debacle normally would’ve put me off the brand forever.

Maybe a Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing with manual transmission just to flip the bird at even considering an EV. Hahahaha

$10K over sticker AND, with Toyota at least, minimum 5-month wait times. In PROPERLY regulated capitalist economies, such markups would be deemed predatory (anti-consumer), and rightly punished. ... But Barry Goldwater wasn't interested in PROPER regulation. And neither are his devout Trickle Down free-market followers.... end of "evil socialist" 🤣 rant.
