uh... maybe by next summer. Tesla hasn’t even brought the wood door trim to the US yet.
Yikes. Im lucky, my son is an electrician, he helped me do it last weekend and I paid him $250. Mounted charger about 2 feet from the breaker box so it wasn't too much trouble. Running/fishing the wire through the wall was the trickiest part. I bought the G3 charger direct from Tesla ($500).
$500 installed here in OKC area, I think it highly depends on your electrician and your geographic area. Thankfully our two panels are in the garage where our MYP will live so the wall charger is right next to the panels.
any advantage of a Tesla wall charger vs. just getting a NEMA 6-50 outlet installed?
Cleaner install, slightly faster charging. Main driver for me was that I want to keep one dedicated charger in the frunk at all times, the cost of buying an extra charger for the garage was nearly the same cost as the wall connector. The advantages above plus a 30% tax write off on the cost of the connector plus install tipped the scales that way for me.
they do see things we can't. He showed me his backend saying that the production completed date is 12/27 in Fremont even though my EDD shows 12/20-12/31. I'm pretty sure our EDD is based on the possibility of early delivery due to someone else declining delivery.
How do you know this? The changes that came to Model Y last year - double-paned front windows, heated steering wheel, USB in glove box, etc - were introduced around the same time in Shanghai and Fremont, about a year ago.
Put it on hold before getting the VIN assigned, I was told that was easier to do. I would do it now....
