Refreshed 2021+ Model X and Model X Plaid waiting room

Delivery scheduled for tomorrow a.m. at my house. Tesla said we need to submit payment before they can deliver the car. I told them I would prefer to wait until I looked over the car and accepted delivery. They said this could pushback by delivery date.

It appears the general consensus is not to submit payment until you actually accept delivery. Correct?

Greetings from the multi-thousand-page Model S waiting room thread to this multi-thousand-page one! My buddy is picking up an X Plaid tomorrow and I'm going to be there with him. As much as I'd love to read up on the past pages here to get the full scoop, I just don't have the time - is there anyone who can summarize the top few things specific to the refresh X to watch out for upon delivery? I don't need an exhaustive list, nor will I be busting out a micrometer to measure gap widths, just 2-5 big things to look out for. Thanks!
Try to pull the seats out. They may be missing bolts... or so I was told and looked like an idiot. But it's better to be safe than sorry.

I paid a week before delivery against what everyone here said. I had zero issues. But we've seen others have major issues, so it's a risky move. I was offered home delivery and I declined. I said I wanted to see it at the SC and walk through it with the delivery specialist. They were super nice. I recommend that.

Anyone know how to call your actual Tesla store? It seems like when you call the store number it just sends you over to the general Tesla line. I would like to talk about the delivery I have this week and the SA hasn’t answered on the line I’ve used in the past in a while. Store is Cherry Hill NJ if that matters.

I tried that and Tesla said the only option for me is home delivery. Just have a hard time convincing myself to give Tesla that much $ without seeing the car. Especially knowing what some have gone through etc.

What's a mother goose to do...

I too will be looking like an idiot out there tugging on all the seats.... Better safe than sorry is correct. Last thing you want is to be driving down the highway at 75-80mph and have a chair come lose while you or someone else is strapped in to it.

Looking at our order sheet, it looks like for LRX 6 seaters at least, they are slowly approaching the point where order date to delivery dates are <1 year, and might hit that by end of quarter (aside from seemingly random unlucky people with older orders). However, once they start shipping 5/7 seaters that might slow down. The good thing is that the number of Jan\Feb '21 orders is really huge, so once they work through that backlog I think the time between order and delivery will start dropping substantially. The real question at that point is what is the production rate relative to new order rate. I would guess anyone ordering in the US now will have a pretty good chance of having the car before the end of the year, unless they REALLY delay on the 5/7 seaters.
As a follow up to the gleaming of data from the data sheets, just want to thank the folks who take the time to put those together. I tend to get lost in the daily comments, inflating my hopes of getting my order sooner rather than later. The data provides a reality check that is very grounding.

My Model X LR that I reserved in October 2021 went from September estimate to March 6-31. My other Model X LR that I reserved June 2021 is still stuck at July after having it earlier be February then March then April. Tesla wants to deliver me the $10k higher priced Model X first.
Honestly this is infuriating. I feel the same except I don't have a backup order to test with.

Ever since I picked up my MX, I’ve had this message on my app. The car refuses to download anything due to this being stuck. Got a message from AT&T that if I didn’t download the latest firmware by today, I’d lose my 4G connection. Anyone else experienced this before with any Tesla?

My father’s 2020 model x had the same message to update software before today otherwise may lose out on functionality. AT&T shutting down their 3g networks today officially so I think something to do w that, probably a settings/modem update…but should be ok since most teslas now have a 4g/lte capabilities anyways.

Holy crap. Where are all the virtue signalers from 1000 pages ago preaching that Tesla can do no wrong...?

Looks really nice! Did you get the front windshield tinted? If so what percentage. I'm considering tinting the front windshield along with the rest when I get my ride. Anyone else have any comments on the positives or negatives of tinting the front windshield. - other that the obvious "it blocks the sunlight" :) I'm curious if it shows less smudges on the interior glass.
I’m planning to do 70% on the front later this week. I’ll follow up with more pics and info afterwards.
