Sorry, don't know where my comment went. Just pointing out that it's not old timers getting any VINs.

Did you get a VIN from a July EDD or did it switch to some March range before you got a VIN?
Had a June EDD. Then switched to March 4-31st. This morning we had a VIN.
  • Model X Long Range
  • Midnight Silver Metallic
  • 22'' Turbine Wheels
  • Black and White Premium Interior with Walnut Décor
  • Six Seat Interior
  • Yoke Steering Wheel
  • Autopilot
  • Full Self-Driving Capability

grats, did you get the updated plaid badge, any updates on the taillight/headlight? thanks
Whoo. Sorry for the super late reply.

I did not get the plaid badge because I got no badge at all. Will get one from the service center at some point - don't really care since I'm putting a clear bra on the entire car so that would've gotten taken off anyway.

Here's some picture of the charge port, taillight, headlight. Lemme know if you're curious about anything else.

Took delivery today. I would say be glad those that are being delivered July that your chances of newer headlights are much higher. Also hopefully by then the production lines of the X are back to quality.

The quality exterior and interior is poor even for a run of the mill econobox.

It is very apparent they quickly put this together or had unskilled workers. FWD are all kinds of misaligned to the window trim, rubber seals, interior door panels, interior trim panels not seated or flimsy, base floor popping and flexing, FWD trim coming off when opened, seam weld separation... list goes on and on. One of the pictures I'm holding in the bumper from flexing outwards where you can see the tabs. Embarassing.

Sadly my last 2 M3Ps didn't have any of these issues.

Was refusing delivery an option in your situation?

Bruce.

🤷‍♂️ also didn't know tesla removed return policy on October 2020 due to customers.. well people abusing the policy so much they axed it entirely. You have 24 hrs or 100 miles or less to create a punch list of correlative action thay Tesla Service will make good of legitimate issues.

My list is currently at 19 items long. I have to list each defect separately and cannot combine them as it makes it difficult to track to completion which I understand. And I am not looking for perfection or panel gaps like I have seen. But moreso very apparent misalignment and gaps.

For a 150K car, I miss my 60k M3P. The center floor board sounding like a heated cookie sheet pan......

I would assume so but wasn't able to find it all until I got it home 30+miles away and able to take a closer look. As I mentioned I never had a problem past 2 teslas and as a large tesla solar +powerwalls customer with MYP on order and a 2nd set of solar+powerwall, this caught me off guard. Expensive mistake.

Out of curiosity, how is your X described on the Tesla website in your account? Mine says

2022 Tesla Model X

I’m scheduled for delivery Tuesday, and my VIN suggests it was built sometime mid February (comparing to others that have found their build date).

If your build date is in October, are they calling it a 2021, or 2022? From what I’ve read here, Tesla has traditionally referred to that as a 2021 model.
Yes the paperwork says it’s a 2021 model. But hey I have the old prices!

So why did you not reject the car?
