What exactly is the test track for? Is it legit for testing cars or just holding. Could be they are ramping up production and not needing "that much QC" and are just loading them? idkToday's Fremont Flyover:
Less cars overall on the test track. Wondering what the skid steer is doing @4:00 near the test track.
sorry to hear this. most if deliveries lately have been really good. Even if they’re pushing off ‘finishing’ your car until your service appt, this is inexcusable.Went to pick up my car today.
Car looked good.
Excess silicon from the top and bottom of the taillight. Couldn’t fully clean unless they took the taillight off. There was silicone in other areas spilling over as well (along door trim).
Went to open passenger FWD and the plastic cover on the door handle just fell off after pressing it.
Once that was open the seat looked pushed forward. I tried the side button to slide it back, but it didn’t work.
The headlights also seemed to have very high gaps on the top compared up to the frunk. Vs the bottom of the headlight sitting on the bumper without any gap (not sure if that’s normal)
They said they’d need some time to fix the seat so I didn’t take delivery.
So we wait again!
But definitely check for silicone.
SoCal - LR X blk/wht 22”
even though i’ll prefer if my delivery is late enough for new headlights, I’d be quite slap happy with a field X if it showed up at my door. It’s a field model like mine
give us your review after you’ve had it a few days. we’d love to know!!Picked up my X-LR today. In 3 words. Worth the wait!
All good. The car is better than I imagined.
Doors aligned perfectly. No issues Aside from small chip on top quarter panel, worm on steering wheel, and some glue smeared on door.
I am beyond happy.
Sad that I dropped off for PPF

did get fsd. Located in Philadelphia PaDid you get FSD? We have same one ordered since 3/3/21- also, what is your location? We were bumped to March- then it went back to July!
Well, it usually has been used as a test track for new vehicles, but as of late I guess there's simply no space left for built vehicles needing parts or inspections. What exactly is the test track for? Is it legit for testing cars or just holding. Could be they are ramping up production and not needing "that much QC" and are just loading them? idk
Exactly what happenedWe "heard" those were taking priority. But I am still holding out hope!! Did you get bumped recently to March 23-31 dates then back to July then a vin? We went to March but then back to July.
Wowzers. Makes our early orders even more valuable! They’re now $25k more base than I paid.Wow, S and X just got a whole lot more expensive View attachment 781055
Ya! Add another $2k for the FSD price increase and it's $27k (~$30k with CA taxes) from what I paid ~1 year ago!Wowzers. Makes our early orders even more valuable! They’re now $25k more base than I paid.
Yep, same here, i wouldn’t pay that if that was the price back then.Wowzers. Makes our early orders even more valuable! They’re now $25k more base than I paid.
Just got a vin on my model x 5 seater white interior long range. Anyone know how long till I can schedule a delivery date?
Early orders without deliveries are just paper value at this pointWowzers. Makes our early orders even more valuable! They’re now $25k more base than I paid.

Those wheels don’t have inserts only the 22 has the insertsPicked up X LR, 6 seat, Blue/White, 20", Standard AP today.
Vehicle is in very good condition, better than I expected. I found several very minor small issues, but all should be easily fixable. Otherwise, the vehicle is super nice, drives really smooth and quiet. No rattles, squeaks, or noises, paperwork was done properly, the delivery specialist at the Houston Westheimer Service Center (Morgan) was awesome, she's just about the only employee I've met that knows what's going on, answered all my questions, and made the delivery experience great.
Minor issues found:
1. Drivers window has some adhesive between the two double-pane glass panels, they will be replacing the window. The delivery specialist informed me of this before I saw the vehicle, they found it during their inspection and had already noted that the window would have to be replaced.

2. Minor, small scratches on exterior, all of these are in the clear coat, not the paint, and should buff out.

3. All Wheels missing the Aero inserts -- none found in the trunk or frunk.
View attachment 781070
4. Back trunk interior trim panel is separating from body, probably just needs realignment or adhesive.
View attachment 781072
5. Passenger side bumper is misaligned, and has paint defect in the gap.
View attachment 781074
Some other defects that I read about here, I checked for, but did not find. There is no silicone sealant in the taillights at all. No condensation in any parking, headlights, or taillights. All seats were bolted and secure. No carpet or upholstery defects, one middle row seat needs a little cleaning. Falcon Wing doors look to be aligned properly, handles line up evenly with the front door handles.
Overall, this is an improvement from what I found on my Performance 3 when I took delivery in 2018.
Some other items I noticed:
1. The rear windows on the Falcon Wing doors and the rear glass are tinted quite a bit darker than the drivers and passengers front windows. This is pretty standard for California to comply with their window tint laws, but in Texas the drivers and passengers front windows are allowed to be the same darkness as the rear glass. I'm going to have to talk to the tint shop to see if different tints can be used to match the front and rear glass.
2. Out of the 4 "Model X" logos that are on the door sills down towards your ankles, two of them had the blue protective plastic removed, and two did not. No problem, of course, but it does show that the prep team is really busy.
3. I thought I may have had a defective center screen in the vehicle, as I was able to see a single column of pixels that were colored when the display had a mostly-white graphic on it (specifically, the HVAC control screen). However, this turned out to be a nearly imperceptible scratch in the factory-applied protective plastic over the screen that you're supposed to remove. Once the plastic was removed, this optical defect disappeared. If you happen to see it on your screen, don't panic, see if it disappears when you remove the plastic.
4. Yoke did have the seam for the airbag present (the "worm"). I don't find this objectionable at all -- every steering wheel I've seen with a center airbag has some kind of seam on it to allow the wheel to split open when the airbag fires. The seam is only visible in oblique lighting, and is symmetrical, so you can't see it unless you're specifically looking for it. Maybe some that come off the assembly line are worse than others, but I'm certain all of them are going to show it to some degree.
5. Yoke steering didn't take much to get used to. Parking lot maneuvers are a little different, but I adapted in no time.
6. Turn signals are also different, but I got used to that in about 10 minutes. The auto cancel function works really well, and this mitigates the driver interaction with the turn signals.
7. Software that came with the car is 2021.43.201, this is a bit older, and doesn't have the center horn functionality or the noise-cancellation. Those will be welcome upgrades.
8. Remember that getting your phone set up to the car is a THREE step process -- 1) get the Tesla app installed if you don't have it already and have the vehicle added to your account by the delivery specialist. This allows you to control the car with the app. 2) Set up phone as a key, this lets you unlock/lock with the phone. 3) Pair with Bluetooth for media streaming. All three of those items are separate processes. When setting up a 2nd phone as a key, the first phone must be disconnected! It can't pair with a 2nd phone while the 1st is still connected. Once both are paired, then both can be connected.
9. The delivery checklist that is available in the spreadsheet is an excellent tool to work off of when you take delivery -- it has all of these items on the checklist and will help you find almost everything that you might need to have Tesla address -- use it!
This worked out well, my wife and I are really happy with the car. It turned out much better that I had initially expected. Still some issues to address, but all are minor/cosmetic and fixable.
I hope all of you get your X as soon as possible, and I hope yours is as good or better than mine! And thank you to all here who have previously mentioned what to look for, those who crafted the delivery checklist, and those who are maintaining the delivery spreadsheet.
I don’t think those wheels come with the inserts. Only 22”s have those as far as I have seen.Picked up X LR, 6 seat, Blue/White, 20", Standard AP today.
